Craniosacral Therapy

Osteopathic Manual Practitioners have learned to palpate a craniosacral rhythmic motion of approximately eight to twelve cycles per minute. It is thought that this rhythmic motion is a result of the fluctuation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain and spinal cord. This movement is not only felt in the cranium and spinal column as it is expressed all throughout the body.

Osteopathy and Pregnancy

Osteopathy links the mobility of structures and tissues to health. In other words, the freer and less strain on the body the more health can be expressed by the body as there is better blood from to and from structures, less strain on posture and less tension on the nervous system.

Osteopathic Manual Treatment

Osteopathic manual treatment is a relatively gentle “hands on” approach that utilizes techniques to help improve the position, mobility and vitality of tissues in the body such as joints, ligaments, fascia and the viscera. OMT is performed in all populations from newborns to the elderly.

Visceral Manipulation

Osteopathy philosophy revolves around four basic tenants. One of these is the philosophies is that the “body is a functional unit”. Simply explained everything has the capacity to affect everything in the body, therefore, structures like joints, muscles and ligaments are linked to the viscera.
